Micro and Nano Surfaces for Better Implant Biocompatibility.

It has been proved that the most acceptable contact surface for the body is when cells belonging to the body form a thin layer on the surface of an implant. With improved biocompatible surfaces, the risk of thrombus is significantly minimised and the long term stability of implantable medical devices increases.

This is the reason why DUALIS is working in cooperation with GfE Medizintechnik GmbH as well as the Cardiac Surgery Clinic and the University of Regensburg’s Institute of Microbiology to develop optimal nano surface structures which will improve the biocompatibility and hemocompatibility of polyurethanes (PUR) for implantable medical products.
